Responsibilities

Manage case files in accordance with the federal guidelines following the Plan for CCDF. Efficiently handling a case load up to 250 children. Issuing updates, recerts, suspensions, and new approvals.

Attends periodical and monthly trainings/meetings on the CCDF Plan Preprint(overview, developing the child care program, individual writing, activities & services to improve the quality of child care, child care services offered, market rate surveys, income eligibility, and plan amendments) with Administration for Children & Families.

Writing the Child Care Development Fund (CCDF) plan/grant

Writing & developing guidelines for provider mini-grants

Manage and maintain the CCDF budget, etc.

Annual federal reports on the CCDF Grants

Process program applications for other services as directed.

Verify claim forms for childcare providers and process for payment.

Childcare Provider Inspections to ensure children’s health and safety.

Process timesheets and leave requests for the CCDF office and submit to accounting.

Develop and maintain strong community alliances

Process all outgoing and incoming mail and correspondence.

Arrange time for clients who cannot make our regular scheduled hours.

On several team planning committees for events sponsored by area tribes, including the Modoc Nation.

Direct tribal members and clients to where they can receive the services not provided by the CCDF office

Verify office supplies and manage re-ordering.

Verify postage and manage re-ordering.

Attending and performing duties at tribal and community events as needed. ex.(Miami Now, Mini Childcare Conference, Provider Appreciation, Children’s Pow Wow, Back to School Supplies)

Attend multiple trainings to keep up to date on current issues concerning childcare

Some off-site training (may require travel and overnights.)

Process program applications for services in Tribal Hearing Aids.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree is generally required, with a Master’s degree preferred, particularly in Child Development or Early Childhood Education.

At least 3 years of experience in child care or a related field, including experience supervising staff and managing budgets

Compensation

$62,000-$72,000

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and tools.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces, at heights, and in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and climb ladders for extended periods.
