Job Summary:

Our thriving clinic is seeking an experienced medical billing specialist familiar with all aspects of full-cycle billing including credentialing to join our team.

Responsibilities and Duties:

· Provide exceptional customer service skills and provide detailed knowledge of insurance, self-pay billing, follow-up regarding contract funds agreements.

· Create and submit claims and follow up with insurance payer on unpaid, rejected or denied claims.

· Post electronic Remittance Advice (ERA’s) and other forms of payments.

· Ensure all levels of insurance follow-up are completed for all claims and pre-certifications.

· Be mindful of patient confidentiality and maintain strict HIPAA compliance.

· Assist team members as needed and billing manager as needed.

· Assist with provider credentialing, licensing and contracts for insurance companies and providers.

· Assist internal staff in answering questions about billing.

· Assist Billing Manager with contracts and credentialing.

· Ability to analyze claims to identify trends.

· Review all new patient data to assure that insurance is correctly entered into software and maintaining eligibility.

· Knowledge of medical coding systems, including ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS coding.

· Assist in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, in addition to grant funding agencies and individual program certifying agencies (CARF, ODMHSAS, OHCA, SAMHSA, IHS, etc.).

· Adhere to and implements policies, procedures and protocols related to billing.

· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience:

· Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills.

· Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

· High school diploma or GED or Associates degree is preferred.

· 2 years of billing experience or medical background highly preferred.

· Knowledge of coding systems such as ICD-10 for accurate code assignment.

· Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in coding and billing processes.

· Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

· Experience with Microsoft skills such as outlook, word, and excel.
