In 2022, the Modoc Nation tribal members voted Robert Burkybile the new Chief of the Modoc Nation.
Rob wants to continue and expand services to members; the development of our California projects for conservation, cultural connection, and economic development; our bison range; and our language preservation.
His initiatives going forward include enhancing relationships and collaboration with other tribes; improving the structure of the government and entities of the Nation; and offering opportunities for members to provide feedback to the elected council more than just at the annual meeting.
Rob has been serving the Nation since 2014 and has been a Miami, Oklahoma resident most of his life.
